Bag of Knowledge - Blog 2

Blog 2 -  Of all the accessories available for knit/crochet, which are your 2 favourite go-to items?

I have a Brilliant Mommy hook bag which I have with me at all time! It carries all my clover hooks; plus has two pockets that are perfect for my all-time favourite scissors with a stopper for the point when not in use. The other pocket holds my stitch markers and my writing pencil (which was a birthday gift!). I would be totally lost without this hook case!

I have a few, but the two things that are always there when I crochet at home is my little tin of stitch markers, and a project bag, which is always a Brilliant Mommy bag

My Chiaogoo interchangeable needles and plain round stitch markers.  With these two items, knitting for me is fuss-free.  The right tools have such a big impact on the finished product

Firstly my all-time favourite go-to is definitely my scissors.  This is my most used accessory and the smaller, the better.  Secondly will be my tapestry needle, I am never without it.  Actually, my scissors and needle are always together as I have a little crochet flower attached to my scissors and I just slip the needle in the flower, that way I do not lose the needle (a handy little trick I learnt from my mom.

My go-to accessories are absolutely stitch markers, I've never been one to live on the wild side, even if I do a tiny amigurumi arm with only 4 of 6 stitches I always mark with a stitch marker. And scissors, I have one in every bag; I love beautiful scissors and will look for them in every craft store.

I have a couple of go-to items, but will literally be lost without my notions bag. It carries all my hooks, scissors, measuring tapes and knick-knacks, saving valuable time looking for things. My second ‘accessory’ has to be my tablet. It keeps all my craft magazines, patterns & notes in one place.

Most people know me as the serious yarn snob. I don’t work with acrylic yarn at all, which means I mostly buy hanks that haven’t been balled yet. I cannot live without my swift made by Boho Yarns and Accessories, and my massive Knitpro wooden wool winder. Without these two gadgets, my life would be miserable, to say the least.
≈ Hilda Steyn, designer, blogger and co-author of Hekel en Word Heel is also on Instagram

I have a million different bags and accessories. I love a light sharp pair of scissors and my stitch markers (the cuter the better). I also chose a project bag according to where I am going and what I am wearing. It must all match as I don’t carry a handbag

Various size tapestry needles are an absolute must for me, BUT I have to, have to have my magnetic needle minder & notions tin at all times, best gift ever from Clay Cloud Creations
